I agree wholeheartedly. We live by doing and caring for others, as well as receiving from others. Both are a gift, whichever end of the giving we are on at any given time.
Abuse of others is something that others thrive upon, most often, I think, from a lack of love. Anything we do to others, we also visit upon ourselves on some level. Sure, punishment is in order in many cases, but you are right to point out that, perhaps, inadequate services and lack of social supports often lead to abusive situations born of frustration and anger.
