Walking congestion

Submitted by jamiewallace on February 5, 2006 - 14:51.

One of the narrowest parts of the Thames walkway - one of the busiest pedestrian routes in London - and nearly half of it is cordoned off. Private, dead, useless space.

Madness.

I like the photograph. Was there any explanation of this, Jamie? I couldn’t quite tell from the image, does it belong to a company’s private space/security boundary?

Yes, appears to be a security thing - but there are plenty of other examples of the Thames Path passing directly in front of offices, so I see no reason for these railings.  But imagine the planning nightmare in getting them removed - it would probably take years, and then end in failure.
