Laura Lawson

Blogger profile

Laura Lawson has been working for UnLtd since last September. She is the Midlands Development Manager for the Big Boost. This involves supporting young social entrepreneurs with cash and coaching to develop their community projects. Laura is constantly amazed at the high quality and passion of the young people she works with and loves seeing them develop through their projects.

Laura has been committed to social justice since her first proper boyfriend introduced her to the wrongs of the WTO, and this commitment lasted much longer than the boyfriend! Laura has worked for a student campaigning network, a small international development agency that works in West Africa, and various public and third sector organisations. In her spare time she has been involved in projects campaigning about climate change, detention centres for asylum seekers and refugees, world trade, GM, travellers, and others. This usually involved lying in front of things, chaining herself to things, organising events, and handing out leaflets. She is no longer involved in this, but occasionally misses lying in front of things.

Laura is 25 years old, and lives in Warwick with a keen mountain biker, a greyhound and an ex-racehorse. These seem to keep her busy when not working.
