Yorkshire born & bred, Susan has spent most of her life in various parts of the Midlands. Having left school with not much more than a knowledge of what she didn’t want, she spent the next few years traveling and supporting herself through various sales jobs. At the tender age of 21, she started her first business and ran this alongside doing regular local hospice work and still getting her backpack on as much as possible. Exactly 10 years later, she fell pregnant, sold everything and moved to bonny Scotland.

She now runs BabyGROE, a registered charity which produces a magazine and a website. The magazine goes out to pregnant women via their midwife and contains editorials, backed up by advertising on issues such as real nappies, organic food, chemical free toiletries and fair-trade. The GROE stands for Green, Recycled, Organic & Ethical and its main aim is to make natural parenting, more of a natural choice.

Started by herself and another mum in 2002 from her spare room, BabyGROE was born out of sheer frustration at the lack of information available to mums about these more natural alternatives.

She wants to keep doing what she is doing because she loves it, it's working and it's the right thing to do! Her main hobby is trying to find time doing interesting hobbies. If she did find the time, she would listen to more music, climb more rocks, visit more countries and teach her daughter more silly songs!

The learning journey will hopefully give her a sense of balance, a load of new ideas and some fantastic ethnic jewelry!
