Rosalind has put together an outstanding plan for helping to unite the young people in the community of Brixton. She targets areas of high unemployment and low income, and aims to provide workshops and activities to give the young people an interest outside of crime. Drawing on groups at risk of becoming involved in anti social or even criminal behaviour Rosalind uses techniques such as stress and anger management, and alternative art therapies to give a creative outlet, and a sense of purpose within the young community. Alongside this she tries to provide, through her network of volunteers and helpers, a coaching and mentoring programme to help the young people deal with feelings of frustration, lack of self worth and to give them a motivation. She has used her Level 1 Award money to provide the services of a therapist, as well as establishing arts resources, publicity and refreshments. Rosalind's scheme has been aimed at cutting crime in the local community, thereby making it a safer, happier place to live. She has drawn on her valuable experiences to reach out to the youngsters, and to help them achieve their potential.
