Spring 2010 Level 2 Competition Launched
The Spring Level 2 competition has now launched across UnLtd’s Millennium Awards, HE Social Entrepreneurship Awards* and Better Net Awards programmes to find the most promising social entrepreneurs from around the country. Awards of up to £15,000 along with tailored support will be made across England, Wales & Northern Ireland.
The Level 2 competition is open to individuals who need funding and support to develop their existing projects into long-term, sustainable ventures. We are looking for inspiring individuals who have innovative and entrepreneurial solutions to challenges facing communities, wider society and the world; those with the ambition, determination and drive to deliver their project and create positive social change.
The online Expression of Interest form is available for potential applicants to download, please refer to the links below.
The competition closes on Monday 22nd March 2010 at 12 noon.

'Leading Social Change' Manifesto
The Social Entrepreneurship Policy Group (SEPG), consisting of the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), UnLtd, Ashoka, Changemakers, Community Action Network (CAN) and Training for Life have published 'Leading Social Change: A Social Entrepreneurs Manifesto'.
The manifesto was created with a view to more fully representing the needs, interests and solutions of social entrepreneurs, advocating in partnership on behalf of those individuals, and to work closely as practitioner organisations to support such individuals.

Social ventures get a New Year boost from UnLtd
UnLtd are pleased to announce the latest recipients of the Autumn round of our national competition, 'Level 2 Awards'.
Level 2 Awards are given to individuals with scalable projects that offer innovative entrepreneurial solutions to some of biggest challenges facing communities, wider society and the world. Level 2 Awards included tailored packages of up to £15,000 plus additional non financial support via a dedicated Development Manager, enabling Level 2 Award Winners to drive forward a vision of long lasting social change.
The projects from successful applicants in the latest round included everything from a waste management solution that re-uses displaced resources meaning what is sent to landfill becomes less than 5%; a Hip-Hop Shakespeare company creating education and employment opportunities; to an innovative lap tray & travel bag for wheelchair users and a service matching NHS surplus with demand from African NGO's.
