The regional team has grown to 8 members of staff over the last 18 months and we are now supporting over 500 award winners across London, the South East and East of England. I have been amazed by the creativity shown by so many of the people we have funded.
Our team covers an area of some 20.4 million people and ranges from large urban areas to very rural communities. I am pleased to notice that our awards are reflecting the diversity of the area we serve. We would particularly encourage applications from people who are new to community projects or who are applying for the first time, people from minority ethnic communities (including refugees and asylum seekers), young people and disabled people. We are also developing some exciting partnerships throughout our regions and we hope to continue this work into the future.
