We see a future where enterprising people are transforming our world for good.
To achieve this future we find people with bold solutions to today's challenges. Through funding and support, we help them to realise their potential and create lasting change. We call these people social entrepreneurs.
The funding and support we give enables entrepreneurs to create the impact they want to see in the world. 83% of our entrepreneurs felt more able to create social change after working with us.
It's important that opportunities to create change are open to everyone, from all backgrounds. While just 5% of SMEs are run by Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people, 28% of our awards went to BAME social entrepreneurs, up from 23.5% in 2017/18.
Whether it’s providing access to employment for people locked out of opportunities, or increasing healthy life expectancy or building communities.
UnLtd’s funding enables entrepreneurs to unlock new investment opportunities. Our entrepreneurs raised a further £3m following their awards.
59% of our awards were made to female entrepreneurs who are creating or running ventures to make real social change. In comparison just 20% of SMEs are run by women.
We know that local leaders have the commitment and knowledge to positively change their communities. That’s why we work in regions where our support is needed the most, so they have the resources to create lasting social change.
Our impact reports are produced annually to detail our work and impact.
In 2008 we supported Matthew Bolton, a university student with a vision to expand the number of UK employers paying the Living Wage. He set up the Living Wage Foundation and today there are more than 3,000 employers on the scheme paying 150,000 employees the living wage
Ben Allen set up Oomph!, an award-winning social enterprise dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing of older adults. They offer training to those working with older people to deliver stimulating physical exercise classes. They now work with more than 750 care homes and 900,000 people a year enjoy their classes
Women make up less than 3% of people in the trade industry. Angela Steele set out to help women train and gain employment in the construction sector. Her trainees have had a 100% success rate in achieving constructions skills qualifications (CSCS), one of her trainees now even runs Angela's own construction business
We work with thousands of social entrepreneurs, people who are changing the lives across the UK.
We host a series of events throughout the UK each year. From classes and conferences, seminars and workshops to networking events and training sessions.
