Mark Norbury to co-chair Government’s Inclusive Economy Partnership

UnLtd CEO Mark Norbury has been appointed as co-chair of the Government’s Inclusive Economy Partnership, alongside former Grant Thornton Chief Executive Sacha Romanovitch.

The Partnership sees Government, businesses and civil society working together to identify and develop solutions to societal challenges. It is led by an Advisory Group of 14 chief executives from a wide range of businesses and civil society organisations, including National Grid, Nationwide, O2, TechUK, NCVO and Big Lottery Fund. It is being convened by DCMS and Cabinet Office, with support from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

One of the first projects to come out of the partnership is a pilot in the West Midlands helping young people to transition into work. Driven by young people themselves, it aims to break down the silos that exist between organisations in the local area.

Commenting on his appointment, UnLtd CEO Mark Norbury said: “There is so much we can do to tackle society’s toughest challenges if we really put our minds to it. The Inclusive Economy Partnership is bringing together business, civil society and government to see how we can make this happen. We know that social entrepreneurs have inspiring solutions to these challenges, informed by their own experience. I’m looking forward to chairing the partnership and encouraging us all to be braver, bolder and more accountable in our vision for lasting change.”

Jeremy Wright, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, said: "Mark is a fantastic addition to the Inclusive Economy Partnership and I am delighted that he has accepted the position of co-chair. I look forward to working alongside him and the rest of the team as we continue to make a positive impact on society through this innovative programme.
