UnLtd's mission is to reach out and unleash the energies of people who can transform the world in which they live. We call these people social entrepreneurs.
SocialFuture: Time For People Powered Solutions
At a time of great economic and social pressures in the UK, we need social entrepreneurs more than ever. So how can the new Government best enable and support them? How can we best design the support services from start up through to social investment stages? And how can we engage communities, business and other agencies in supporting the people who want to improve the world in which they live?
SocialFuture is the programme UnLtd has developed to help answer these questions. It is a unique project driven by social entrepreneurs, support agencies and Government advisors. The Venture Society is the new report from Respublica commissioned by UnLtd.

'Social Entrepreneurs: The Facts'
UnLtd is celebrating its support to over 1,000 entrepreneurs a year with the launch of a series of findings 'Social Entrepreneurs: The Facts'. The latest statistics show that 89% of individuals supported by the organisation feel able to create positive social change. Of these, 97% felt that was as a direct result of running their venture supported by UnLtd.
This Findings Paper provides a unique insight into start-up entrepreneurs supported by UnLtd, detailing who they are, their work and the social impact they have. It demonstrates how an investment in the individual and their practical solutions to the problems they face generates a ripple effect with the potential to create significant and lasting social change.

'Leading Social Change' Manifesto
The Social Entrepreneurship Policy Group (SEPG), consisting of the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE), UnLtd, Ashoka, Changemakers, Community Action Network (CAN) and Training for Life have published 'Leading Social Change: A Social Entrepreneurs Manifesto'.
The manifesto was created with a view to more fully representing the needs, interests and solutions of social entrepreneurs, advocating in partnership on behalf of those individuals, and to work closely as practitioner organisations to support such individuals.

Latest News
view all newsA survey carried out by UnLtd has revealed that the majority of social entrepreneurs are unsure of what to expect following the emergency budget announcements last week, with 3 in 4 expecting their venture to be affected.
With news of the Government planning spending cuts of £30bn by 2014/15, 39% of respondents are feeling less confident as a result, with 45% believing it will create a negative effect on their venture. Social entrepreneurs expect the key taxation measures that will affect them most will be the increase in VAT to 20%, with 69% expecting the rise to have a negative effect on their venture. Some believe that the emergency budget announcements will be worse for early start-up social entrepreneurs and the less well-off who will now have less funding or resources available. The survey also reveals the Coalition Government is met by a general sense of uncertainty with 44% not knowing if they will affect their venture for the better or the worse or indeed make any difference.
Despite these uncertainties and the challenges ahead, the survey indicates the value of social entrepreneurship will be even greater; presenting an opportunity for determined, creative and resourceful social entrepreneurs prepared to take risks and respond to a changing environment.
