Why leave your happiness to chance?
Take a Happystance
Could you be happier? Would it be okay if you laughed more with family, friends and colleagues? Do the pressures of daily life get in the way of you feeling good?
How will being happier help you?

Research shows that our happiness is a crucial factor in our general health and well- being. Happy people are:
- Healthier & live longer
- More creative & perform better at work
- More successful in relationships
- Less stressed and more resilient
- Able to get more out of life
What is a Happystance?
We all want to be happy. Yet many of us treat happiness as a rarely affordable luxury or something that happens by chance. Something to push into the margins at weekends or in the evening. Somewhere in the daily grind of modern living our happiness ebbs away and it becomes an optional extra only for when everything-else is done.
A Happystance is simply taking a pro-active stance that happiness is not just important, it is vital to our physical and emotional health. It’s about doing simple, practical things everyday to restore, maintain and build our sense of well-being. It’s about joy, being engaged with what we do and having a sense of purpose. When you take a Happystance you have fun taking happiness seriously for your both your own good and the benefit of others around you.
You can learn to be happy using hard science and warm encouragement. You don’t need to embrace any new beliefs or talk endlessly about your childhood!
Happystance for carers
This blog is part of the Happystance for carers project supported by Unltd. It provides free laughter sessions and workshops on practical ways to reduce stress, develop resilience and build optimism. All sessions and workshops are free (thanks Unltd!), so if you know a carers group that might like a little more laughter and a bit less stress in their lives, please let me know.
