The past week has seen an unprecedented level of violence and attacks, against minoritised communities, especially Muslims and asylum seekers, in the UK. UnLtd strongly condemns this racist and Islamophobic hatred and violence at the hands of the far-right.

UnLtd was founded to support entrepreneurs with passion and commitment to create positive social change across the UK. Over 20 years we have learnt that the most worthwhile solutions come from individuals who bring people and communities together, who seek justice and provide healing – who act from places of compassion and inspiration rooted in the lives, hopes and humanity of those around them.

The hatred and violence we have seen in these riots once again highlight racism, Islamophobia and exclusion within the UK. We recognise the long standing and deep-seated nature of this institutional and systemic racism in the UK.

We need – and our community is seeking to build – a society and economy that offers hope and opportunity. This is what social entrepreneurs do. Racial equity, inclusion and socio-economic justice are at the heart of these endeavours, fuelling the kind of growth that can help bring our communities and our country together.

UnLtd’s team is busy reaching out to social entrepreneurs we work with to offer support. Many organisations are generously providing valuable resources and support at this time:

If you’re a social entrepreneur, do prioritise taking care of yourself and keeping your loved ones safe and well at this time. Please get in touch if you want to discuss your award or explore how we can provide any further support to you.
